Dr. Janus Supernak
Civil & Environmental Engineering for the New Millennium
"I cordially invite you to study Civil & Environmental Engineering at SDSU. Why here? There are at least ten reasons, outlined below, why our program is an excellent choice for your future."
- Dr. Janusz Supernak, Professor and Chair Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering

Why should you choose Civil or Environmental Engineering at SDSU?

Civil & Environmental Engineering is unique for several reasons. Civil & environmental engineers create "greater than life" projects like the Great Wall of China, Roman aqueducts, Hoover Dam, Sears Tower, the Golden Gate Bridge, and our national interstate highway system.

They are stable professions that command a good salary. Most graduates earn starting salaries around $45,000. The demand is the best in 20 years; for example, Caltrans currently needs 2,000 civil engineers statewide.
