Tec de Monterey hosts a Summer Program where American, Mexican, and Canadian students and faculty come together for a truly intercultural experience in a city that exudes the Mexican culture. A large variety of courses are offered due to the collaborative teaching efforts of faculty from all 3 countries.
Locale:
Nationally known as Mexico’s ‘Western Pearl’ and internationally recognized as Mexico’s Silicon Valley, Guadalajara is Mexico’s second largest city and the capital of the State of Jalisco. It is the birthplace of Mariachi bands and the Mexican hat dance. The colonial architecture, parks, and tree-lined streets can transport you into a different era. However, the city has quite a modern beat, and today many high tech companies and major multinational corporations such as IBM, and Hewlett Packard have established facilities in Guadalajara. It is here between the mixture of modern life and traditional values where one can truly become immersed in a distinctly Mexican lifestyle.

Course Offerings:
ITESM- Guadalajara Summer Program offers courses in Business, Finance and Accounting, Humanities, Spanish, Marketing, and Engineering. Engineering course titles include: Economics, Project Management, Evaluation of Projects, Computer Drawing, Integrated Manufacturing Systems, Fluid Mechanics, Differential Equations, Modern Physics, Electric Circuits I, Energy and Thermodynamics, Linear Algebra. Academic Notes:
Tecnológia Monterey- Guadalajara Campus is one of the 33 campuses in the ITESM consortium. ITESM was originally founded by a group of Mexican businessmen in 1943. Today it is considered one of the best universities in Mexico. Tec de Monterey recognizes the importance of an internationalized campus, and thus encourages student and faculty collaboration in all aspects of education. They maintain membership in many academic and professional organizations in Europe, Asia, and the Americas.
The state of the art Guadalajara campus covers 92 acres and includes modern sports facilities, a wireless network, residence hall, and a student center. Professors are involved in continuing education, and many are often prominent members of the business community in Guadalajara.
Special Notes:
Program includes tuition for up to 6 units, accommodation in University residence hall, 1 meal per day, social events, and use of all campus facilities. Optional weekend trips to Mexico City, Puerto Vallarta, and Zacatecas are arranged by the University. The cost is 2,499 + airfare.
