A night of celebration for students just weeks away from commencement recognized their years of study on Montezuma Mesa.
More than 1,000 soon-to-be Aztec alumni dropped by GRADNITE 2012 at the SDSU Bookstore on Thursday, May 3 for a chance to unwind and win prizes before hunkering down for finals.
Prior to doors opening at 5 p.m., the entrance line snaked all the way down Centennial Walkway to the construction partition for the new Aztec Student Union.

An iPad, Beats by Dre headphones, commencement portrait package, HD camcorder, diploma frame and AT&T Android phone were just a few of the free giveaways that attendees had a chance to win throughout the evening.
Along with free refreshments, students could also take advantage of 25 percent off SDSU-imprinted merchandise and a special deal from MAC Cosmetics.
A successful event
The Bookstore remained open past the 7 p.m. closing time to accommodate a number of students still mingling and browsing alumni merchandise.
