Associated Students hosted a polling site in the PPG Alumni Center for the June 5 primary election.

It was dark and quiet when Associated Students Vice President of External Affairs Tom Rivera and A.S. staff arrived on Montezuma Mesa at 5 a.m., Tuesday.
But it was for a good cause — setting up a polling site for the June 5 primary election.
A.S.-organized poll
“We have the opportunity to provide SDSU students and community members with a comfortable, familiar place to come and vote,” said Rivera, a political science major.
“Having a polling site on our campus is great because it makes it easier for college students to be able to participate and make their voices heard, and we are proud of that.”
Working with the San Diego County Registrar of Voters, Associated Students, in collaboration with the SDSU Alumni Association and the SDSU Police Department, coordinated the event by reserving the Parma Payne Goodall Alumni Center, setting aside parking for voters and producing additional signage.
Casting votes
Like all polling sites, the SDSU location was run entirely by volunteers and staff members with the San Diego County Registrar of Voters.
The poll encompassed voting precincts adjacent to campus, including Hardy Avenue and 55th Street. Poll workers helped registered voters cast ballots, collected mail-in ballots and assisted non-area registered voters with casting provisional ballots.
