What is an Hybrid Electric Vehicle?
A Hybrid Electric Vehicle (HEV) is a vehicle in which utilizes two or more sources of energy, one of the sources being an electric motor. The other modes of energy are provided by either diesel engines, gas motors or turbines. There are basically two different types of "hardware configurations" for hybrids, they are Series and Parallel. Some systems even use a combination of the two.
