Welcome to the website of San Diego State University’s College of Engineering, the fastest growing of SDSU’s seven colleges and the oldest College of Engineering in San Diego. For over 50 years, the College has been offering a wide range of degrees and programs (see the Fact Sheet) through a blend of rigorous and project-based curricula to educate a diverse group of students. Our graduates are innovators and professionals who serve and fuel the economic and technological development of Southern California and regions beyond.

The future of our College is guided by SDSU’s Strategic Plan, Building on Excellence - Student Success, Research and Creative Endeavors, and Community and Communication. Student success is at the heart of our mission. All of our activities, including research and scholarly activities are intended to enable our students to achieve their highest levels. Many undergraduates join teams of talented graduate students, exceptional faculty, and visiting scholars to conduct ground-breaking research. We especially focus on enabling our students to have a global perspective, recognize human and societal needs, design novel, sustainable engineering solutions, and create value through entrepreneurship.

Despite significant cuts in state appropriations in recent years, the College of Engineering has been continuing to offer a high quality education at an affordable cost. In the face of diminishing state support, the University has been relying on other sources of revenue including private support and philanthropy in order to maintain tuition and fees at an affordable level.

San Diego is a thriving, internationally recognized center of leading-edge technology and many students find unparalleled opportunities for real-world experience before they enter the workforce.

Thank you very much for your visit and I invite you to explore this website and learn more about the College and all the exciting projects that are being carried out by the Engineering faculty and students.
