BIOGRAPHY

Steven Kestler is a Principal Systems Engineer with the Aerostructures SBU at the Chula Vista, CA site. He has been part of the Research & Technology group at Aerostructures for 10 years and has been a Principal Investigator on a variety of technology projects during that time. These projects have included the development of an electrothermal ice protection system for the nacelle, structural health monitoring for the nacelle thrust reverser, and the development of Direct Energy Deposition manufacturing methods for Titanium components. During his time at Collins Steven has graduated from Raytheon Systems Engineering Technical Development Program (SEtdp) and has been a member of the Systems Engineering development committee where he was an author on the Systems Engineering development guide and has worked with engineers around Collins to adopt Model Based Systems Engineering methods at Aerostructures. In addition to his work as a PI on a variety of technology projects Steven is also actively involved with AIAA both as an author as well as the Vice Chairman for the Electrified Aircraft Technology Technical Committee. Through these projects Steven has produced 14 patents with more than 10 additional applications still in process with the US patent office.
