BIOGRAPHY

Mr. Pedro Orso-Delgado was named the City of Santee’s Deputy City Manager/Director of Development Services in August 2009. Deputy City Manager. He provides executive management support to the City Manager in overseeing City departments and operations. As Director of the Department of Development Services, he oversees the functions of Planning, Engineering, Land Development, Capital Projects, Building and Information Technology.

Major projects that he has made a priority include the continued development of the 104-acre River View Corporation Office Park, the development of Prospect Avenue, that includes 150 acres of potential airport industrial development, the completion of the 55-acre Town Center Community Park, and addressing the City’s concerns regarding the Sycamore Landfill Expansion and the Las Colinas Expansion Project.

Mr. Orso-Delgado joined the City of Santee after a 25 year career at Cal-trans. There he was District 11 Director from 2001-2009, overseeing a budget in excess of $150 million and a capital budget of over $3 billion, and helping the District through a decade of major construction projects on nine regional freeway systems, while contending with the challenges of transportation funding cuts.

Mr. Orso-Delgado is a San Diego native, attended schools in both San Diego and Tijuana, Mexico, and attended Southwestern Community College in Chula Vista. He graduated from San Diego State University in 1983 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering and began his career with Caltrans in 1984 as a Junior Civil Engineer.
