BIOGRAPHY 

Alfredo Ramirez, Vice President of Engineering, leads the San Diego engineering functional organization for Aeronautics Systems, a premier provider of manned and unmanned aircraft and advanced technologies critical to our nation’s security. In his role, he is responsible to provide engineering resources and processes to all programs, supporting multiple divisions, operating at the site. 

Alfredo was previously the San Diego Autonomous Design Center of Excellence leader, responsible for ensuring that the site infrastructure at the Center of Excellence supported all program activities at the CoE.  Beforehand, Alfredo was a Director and Chief Engineer within the Autonomous Systems Division at NGAS. His career in the aerospace and defense industry has focused exclusively on the development of autonomous unmanned airborne systems for over 30 years. He has performed technical leadership roles in Advanced Systems Development groups and in the development of major military acquisition programs such as the RQ-4 Global Hawk since its inception in 1995. Prior assignments include IPT Leadership roles as well as Chief Engineer and Chief Architect positions in support of High Altitude Long Endurance Unmanned Aerial Systems such as RQ-4 Global Hawk, MQ-4 Triton, and the NATO Air Ground Surveillance Unmanned Aerial System. He also served as a technical advisor for other UAS programs under the Autonomous Systems Division, including the MQ-8 Fire Scout for the US Navy, Firebird, and other advanced capabilities.

Ramirez holds a bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering from San Diego State University. He is a graduate of the Executive Program for Scientists and Engineers at the University of California in San Diego, and of the Northrop Grumman Integrated Systems Program Management Conference.
