Engineering Student Receives NSF Graduate Research Fellowship

Hats off to Aerospace Engineering student Ismael Reveles for earning the NSF Graduate Research Fellowship Award. It is very impressive that Ismael’s hard work and talent earned him this prestigious award, but what is even more extraordinary is that Ismael won this Graduate award as an undergraduate student. The NSF Graduate Research Fellowship Program recognizes outstanding graduate students that excelled in NSF supported science, technology, engineering, and mathematics fields and plan on pursing higher education in Master’s or Doctoral programs. 

Reveles graduated from Helix Charter High School in La Mesa, CA in 2007 and has since been involved in MESA, SHPE, SACNAS, MARC, McNair, and is Lead student for the ERC Student Leadership Council. This past summer, Ismael participated in research at Cornell University funded by SDSU’s Minority Access to Research Careers Program (MARC). He graduated from the Aerospace Engineering Department this May and will continue his research education through a Master’s or Doctorate program. The Master’s Program at USC and the Doctoral programs at Arizona State University and UW have already accepted Ismael.
