On behalf of the College of Engineering, we are pleased to announce that Daisy Galeana, 1998 BSME, current PhD student and Regional Technical Manager Latin America for Solar Turbines and Theresa M. Garcia, 1991 BSFCOB, 2009 MACOE and Assistant Dean for Student Affairs have made a joint gift to the College of Engineering. Their gift will support the Mathematics Engineering Science Achievement (MESA) program and name the Daisy Galeana and Theresa M. Garcia MESA Collaborative Annex located in the Center for Student Success in the College of Engineering. Galeana and Garcia first met when Daisy was a student in the College of Engineering and Theresa was the MESA Program Coordinator for the College of Engineering. Galeana, a first generation college student attributes the MESA program and Garcia’s efforts with much of her success. Garcia was the MESA Program Director for 17 years prior to being named Assistant Dean in 2014.
