As the Director of Advising for SDSU's College of Engineering, I lead strategic undergraduate advising initiatives that support student success, advisor development, and continuous improvement across the College. My work focuses on building systems that help students thrive while creating an advising culture rooted in care, collaboration, and equity.
 
I believe the best advising empowers students to understand not only what they need to do, but why it matters and how to navigate higher education with confidence. Whether I'm leading operational strategy, developing advising resources, mentoring advisors, or partnering with faculty and campus leaders, my goal is to make complex systems more accessible and create environments where students and staff can succeed.
 
I earned a B.A. in Gender, Sexuality, and Women's Studies from the University of California, Davis, and an M.A. in Higher Education and Student Affairs from the University of San Francisco. My professional and scholarly work has centered on educational equity, student development, and improving institutional support for historically underserved students. Throughout my career, I have developed educational programming, conducted research, and presented on topics including gender identity, disability, student success, and inclusive practices in higher education.
 
Beyond my institutional role, I serve as Chief Steward for the Academic Professionals of California (APC), Unit 4, at San Diego State University. I have also served on APC's statewide Bargaining Team and multiple statewide committees, advocating for fair working conditions, professional recognition, and a stronger CSU for both employees and students. I believe that supporting the professionals who serve students is essential to advancing student success.
 
At the heart of my work is a simple belief: higher education should be both academically rigorous and deeply human. I strive to lead with curiosity, integrity, and compassion while helping build systems that allow students, advisors, and institutions to flourish.
