Did you hear or feel the mysterious boom in San Diego on Monday Aerospace Engineering professor Joseph Katz said to KPBS that one likely explanation for the widespread phenomenon is shock waves from supersonic aircraft - sonic booms.

NASA has recently selected nine space technologies for flight testing to advance innovations that address mission needs for both the agency and the commercial space industry. Among the nine technologies and in the ranks of other high-ranking awardees is the advanced spacecraft guidance technology developed at San Diego State University.

Donald Mensah (BSAE '19) participated in SDSU's MESA Program, DBF (Design Build Fly), and the National Society of Black Engineers while an undergraduate student. Now working at Lockheed Martin, he gives back to the programs that gave him so much by donating to the MESA Engineering Fund.

Paulina Díaz-Montiel arrived in 2014 as an international student. Since then, she’s earned her master’s and become the first female Ph.D. from the joint doctoral program in structural engineering.
